Livre Edition originale
Hardcover. Etat : Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. 1st Edition. First American edition, plates printed in France, text printed in Holland, book bound in West Germany. This sumptuous book contains 160 full-page tipped-in plates--many in full color--and a photo frontispiece of Picasso and Jacqueline. A whimsical Picasso alphabet, drawn by the master specifically for this book, illuminates Parmelin's brilliant text, and is featured in toto on the final few pages of the book. Additionally included is one tipped and bound-in original litho, also a bound-in leaf after page 46, and a sewn-in full-page plate in sepia tone. All the plates are in Very Fine condition. Overall, the book is in Fine to Very Fine condition with attractive bookplate on first endpaper. The Very Good dust jacket has minor chips and tears, but not on the cover illustration or on the print on the spine. Note: The Milton Fox pamphlet describing the plates is not included. The additional postage for domestic mailing of this oversize (11.5- x 12-inch), heavy (> 6 pound) volume is included in the price. An extra charge will be required for international delivery.
