Brown cloth gilt, slipcase, slender 8vo., 47, (1) pages, illustrated with 16 copper engravings of tailpieces and a brown paper framed wood engraving on Troya paper from the original block by Bewick; and a mounted portrait and halftone photograph. One of 100 numbered copies printed at the Cherryburn Press of R. Hunter Middleton, who printed the original wood engraving. Bound by Kner & Anthony. Four-page tribute to Paul Bennett with an original Bewick wood engraved vignette, the four page prospectus and an unused Newberry Library postcard of the Bewick woodblock"The Fallow Deer" laid in. A fine copy in the very lightly used cloth-covered board slipcase.

This book presents a selection of Bewick's engravings and writings on the subject of monuments, both personal and public. The text contains writings from MEMOIR, two letters and several notations made by Bewick and his daughter Jane in the margins of two 1821 volumes of the BRITISH BIRDS now in the Victoria and Albert Museum Library, London. Sixteen tailpieces were selected and carefully reproduced on copper from the MEMORIAL EDITION. Other illustrations tipped in include a portrait of Bewick from an original engraving by Burnett, a halftone photograph of Bewick's gravestone and a print pulled on troya paper from an original block. The book is 6" by 8 3/4" and is printed in monotype Baskerville in black on a callendered Japanese paper. Original prospectus enclosed.

Tall octavo (23 cm) in soft brown publisher's cloth with matching slipcase, gilt titles and decoration; sixteen wood engravings by Bewick printed on fine calendered paper, text set in Baskerville. Portrait of Bewick together with a specially mounted print in a folding album by way of a frontispiece. A brief discussion of Bewick's wood engravings as monuments and memorials which appeared here and there in his work. A Fine copy of a handsome little book.

Limited edition. 69, (v) pp., illustrated with 14 engravings by Bewick printed from the original blocks on dampened Rives Heavy-weight paper using a Washington Hand Press. 35 additional Bewick engravings were printed using a Vandercook Press from metal engravings reproduced from the Memorial Edition, 3 tipped-in plates from photographs; octavo, original green cloth with engraved vignette inset printed from an original Bewick block mounted to front board. An additional print pulled from the Hen & Ducklings vignette block laid in loose, as described in the publisher's prospectus, which is also laid in. Edition of 90 copies, this #64.
