Hewitt discusses some current breeding theories and leading European stud farms. His text seems to be based on a talk. Wall discusses inbreeding and outcrossing, using a few specific examples of Virginia sires and dams. Saegmuller gives a good summary of Virginia breeding from its beginnings to 1950.
