Accompanied witth a two paragraph letter signed from the author, to G.W. Powell Esq., at the Canadian High Commission, London, England. The letter is dated 15th December, 1969. Light smudging to foot and head of jacket edges. Rubbing to covers, edges.with tiny tears to head of jacket. Small stain to lower rear cover. Boards clean. Small bruise to spine tail. Interior clean and in very good condition. Thomas Edward Howarth was a headmaster, educator, and historian. In 1952 he became High Master of the prestigious St. Paul's School in London, and was a member of the Public Schools Comission. His book examines public schools, their social and cultural aspects, pressures, and educational theories.
