The artist was both an architect and draughtsman but also an accomplished artist in watercolors and pencil. These 24 printings are taken from a collection of 145 sepia drawings of buildings structures in the City of Oxford made in the years 1810-1830. These drawings are a unique record of some of the less publicized buildings of Oxford in their early nineteenth-century setting. Laid-in is a small paper noting the price increase on the Picture Books increased to 5s on 24 June 1968. A clean very presentable copy.

Buckler initially worked with his father before taking over his practice. His work included restorations of country houses and at the University of Oxford. Buckler received art lessons from the painter Francis Nicholson. The wraps will be covered with an inert archival protective sleeve which is removable.
