16 quite interesting photo plates, especially of native peoples, by author. (illustrateur). Good+; front signature repaired. Grey cloth with gilt-stamped design and titles and three small gilt-stamped scenes, all edges gilt; 368 pp. A survey of Alaska in 43 poems reminiscent of Hiawatha; I read "Algae of Alaska" aloud, in part, and it was interesting; subjects include many scenes of native tribes, observations of animals and landscapes; with notes and iltroduction. - 16 quite interesting photo plates, especially of native peoples, by author.
