Cloth. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Fair. First Edition. Hardback. First Edition. European Victory. Previous owners name and date to inside cover. Wear and tear to D/J. The author was attached as a war correspondent to the British Armies in North-West Europe and his story for that reason is primarily of Field-Marshal Montgomery's Twenty-First Army Group. A war correspondent has an unrivalled opportunity of weatching the unfolding of military events. He is at hand to hear the purpose of the commander and to see, in the days which follow, the regiments and the men who fulfil it. The author has achieved a balance of vivid narrative and reasoned criticism which does justice to his great theme. This is an exceptional and moving story of a celebrated campaign and of the men who fought it, and a peromanent historical record. 299 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
