Edité par New York: Schocken, 1978
Vendeur : My Father's Books, Bennington, VT, Etats-Unis
Livre Edition originale
Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. 1st Edition. Printed in the U.S.A. [Date from the copyright page.] Second Printing, Stated. Publisher's Note, Notes [endnotes, 70 pages], Chronology, Index; vi, [iv], 509 pages. The original hot red cloth is in excellent shape, with just a touch of rubbing at two of the square corner tips; gilt lettering on the spine is bright and clear as is the facsimile signature on the upper board. Endpapers are colored a rich brown and the top-edge is red, matching the cloth; the superior quality paper is a pleasure to read---crisp, bright, and completely clean despite a bit of freckling on the other two text-block edges. [Please see my five images of the actual book.] The original unclipped ($24.50) dustjacket has one tiny chip, a few small spots, and a tear on the front panel. [Visible in one of the images.] "These letters, [some] available here for the first time in English, [present] Kafka as son, brother, student, friend, observer, lover, writer, critic, sick man; [revealing] his capacity to enjoy life and, at the same time, to sense its cruel ambiguity and its tragic quality."---from the flap. As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking. Please note that, due to COVID, overseas shipping may incur unusual delays.
