Typed letter signed, one page,6,5 x 7,5 inch, `Taiwan Provincial Government [.]` letterhead, 7.04.1984, reply letter to Mr Romanus Krick - concerning his election as the seventh Vice President of the Republic of China, signed in blue ink "Teng-hui Lee", attractively mounted (removable) for fine display with a photograph, shows Teng-hui Lee next to a statue (altogether 11,75 x 16,5 inch),in very fine condition. In parts: "[.] Many thanks for your congratulatory message on my election as the seventhVice President of the Republic of China by the members of the Seventh Session of the First National Assembly. Feeling deeply honored by this election which will surely prompt me to work harder and harder to serve my country and people under the brilliant leadership of President Chiang Ching-kuo, [.]".

Lee Teng-hui is credited with leading Taiwan's "Quiet Revolution" of 22 million people without violence or upheaval. The book covers Taiwan's history and commitment to a free democracy; hence Lee's nickname "Mr. Democracy", as Lee is credited as the president who initiated Taiwan's transition to a new democratic era.
