The history of the building of Inveraray, a West Highland capital, by the 3rd and 5th Dukes of Argyll. Large format. Grey mottled boards, Blue title label with gilt title to spine. B/w photos and illustrations throughout. Spine faded, uneven fading to boards and a few marks. Text block browned and has some foxing. Bookplate to front endpaper and inscription partially crossed out in ink. Contents clean. Pale blue pictorial dustwrapper is browned and a little grubby. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!.

Loosely inserted is a postcard signed by Iona Argyll, wife of the 12th Duke of Argyll, a separate postcard of the castle, a 'Inveraray Castle - Restoration Appeal' booklet, a programme from 15 January 1967 for 'Laying Up Of Old Colours', an 8''x6'' black and white photograph of the castle on fire and two Inveraray Castle advertisement leaflets .
