Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Visible crushing to spine. Gilt lettering remains bright and clear. Clipped jacket. Panels have light edge wear with tears and creasing.

Etat : Good. 1956. First Edition. 256 pages. No dust jacket. Beige cloth. Clean pages with noticeable tanning to endpapers. Tightly bound with notable thumb-marking throughout. Pencil inscription and mild water stain to front endpaper. Notable scuffing to plate on front pastedown. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking to boards. Heavy tanning to spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Moderate water stains to rear board and spine.
Etat : P/P. 1940 New Century h/b edition. No jacket. Front board is detached from book. Pages a little loose at spine but nice & bright with no writing/tears.

Her best friend Alma Riven, also gets selected - BUT her horse Starlight has to be left behind. Alma's path to London includes Banff, Canada and one more strange bit of truth reveals itself on page 244 of 256 TOTAL pages. Decorative b/w drawings in text. Cond : Boards are green with silver spine lettering and cover graphics. D.J. is white w/ yellow and white lettring. Cover graphic is of Starlight in the paddock and Pam stroking his muzzle. Pages are yellowed at edges. D.J. is rubbed or tattered at all edges - esp. spine top & tail. No names, marks, tears, creases folds nor stains. Spine fine, binding tight. Collectible condition as d.j. now in mylar protector. Quote (p. 30) : " In a short time they came to a stableyard and stopped at the wide gates, where many horses stood patiently, flicking their tails to rid themselves of flies. Pam hailed a woman clad in slacks, who moved among he horses. She turned . ." Size: 12mo.

The text is illustrated with blue and black, and black coloured drawings by Pixie O'Harris, or the author. Illustrated boards  same illustration as for title page, with black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. A series of short stories with a magic / fantasy theme. The book is showing age and use, and would benefit from sympathetic restoration. Bumping of the book corners with rubbing, and underline board visible, to the lower book edges. Fading to all book edges and to the rear panel. The rear spine gutter edge has completely come away and the underlying webbing is visible  please see photograph. Sunning of the back strip. A few stains to the front endpapers along with previous owner's name to the top edge of the front paste-down and original bookseller's rubber stamp to the lower edge of the same page. Age toning of the text block edges and pages, and the text block itself is tight and no pages are loose. Occasional faint foxing spot can be seen to the pages.
