Hardcover. xxviii, 370p., hardbound in openweave blue cloth boards and enclosed in the dust jacket. As for the book itself, find light streaky foxing to top edge and one or two flecks to fore-edge, else perfectly sound, clean and unmarked; and as for the dust jacket, expect mild edgewear, faintly sunned spine panel, and an irritating little sticker at the tail. Bruccoli : "The present text is an offset facsimile of the first printing .(London, Martin Secker, 1924). No editorial alterations of any kind have been made." He states that materials toward a definitive edition exist, and cites university holdings of early Lawrence typescripts.

Orig. Black Embossed Cloth. Etat : Cover Fair; Content G+. No Jacket. Not a First--(c) 1852. This book is a guide for rural agriculture consisting of six booklets: "Every Lady Her Own Flower Gardener," 119 pp, by Louisa Johnson; "Elements of Agriculture," (89 pp), by F.G. Skinner; "The American Bird Fancier" (of cage and house birds), (107 pp ) by D.J. Browne; "Essay on Manures," for promoting agriculture (60 pp), by Samuel L. Dana; "The American Kitchen Gardener," (vegetable and garden fuits), 120 pp, by T.G. Fessenden; "The American Rose Culturist," (roses and dahlias), 96 pp. Book is illustrated by engravings. Cover hinges are partly broken (front c. 50%, rear c. 80%); four corners rounded and some board showing; spine is rather fragile, the cover broken vertically and crosswise, with some evidence of a previous repair at this point. Both the endpapers are present and foxed a medium tan tone--this foxing extends into the text for two or three pages--rest of the text is almost fox-free and in very nice condition. Owner's name is written in pencil on the front flyleaf. Segment pp 73 to 91 in the Agriculture section are somewhat loose. Top three of the five strings have pulled through. Rest of the book seems tightly bound.
