El espia y escritor Charles Lucieto situa al protagonista de esta novela, James Nobody, super espia británico en lucha contra la "amenaza roja", trabajando encubierto en la U.S.S.R. como chofer de "La Vírgen", una de las mejores espías de la Unión Soviética, a quien ofrece tambien servicios nocturnos. Actualmente se considera a Nobody como el precedente mas cercano de la figura de James Bond.
