Hardcover. Etat : Fair. Etat de la jaquette : No Dust Jacket. Seventh Edition. Seventh edition. Hard cover published by Wm. H. Allen and Co. in 1858. No dust jacket. Red cloth covers with gilt designs on front and back, and gilt lettering on spine. Spine is torn on both sides down from the top, torn across middle and bottom, and torn along front edge at bottom. Corners of covers are bumped, worn and frayed, and are becoming separated. Front and rear inner hinges are partially split. Inside front cover has an erasure in upper corner, front endpaper has some writing and a stamp at top, and inside back cover has some writing at top. Deckled page edges. Some of foldout plates have creased and torn side edges. Top edges and some side edges of pages are uncut. Pages have some tanning. Book is in acceptable condition. 608 pages, 3.3 lb.; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall; 608 pages.

This is the Seventh Edition revised and re-arranged by Thomas Cook and John T.Hyde. 381pp., numerous plates as called for, appendices, with seperate "Elementary Principles of Artillery" by the same authors Cook and Hyde. 226pp., plates, some folding, ills., c.600pp., in all, handsomely bound in green leather, gilt with raised bands to spine and gilt motif to front board, possibly of King Edward's School Bury St Edmonds (who gave it as a Form Prize in 1870) A little wear at head of spine and to corners, else very nice copy. 0.0.
