Orange lettering on spine. Corners and spine bumped and rubbed. The first edition was 1925; this is the 1935 Junior Literary Guild edition. Color plate tipped in opposite title page, plus six other color plates by Arthur Rackham. The first plate has a small crease at the bottom right corner. There are black and white line drawings throughout. Author also wrote "The Velveteen Rabbit." All pages slightly brown from age and paper quality, but none are loose, torn or written on. Inscripion in ink on FFEP (not by author) . ; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 175 pages.

First American trade edition, second printing, with B on the copyright page. Book is in fine condition, crisp and clean, with tight binding and sharp corners. Tips of corners have a whisper of wear. Inked ownership name and date (March 1926) neatly penned onto illustrated front free endpage (Julia Eveleth Haskell, daughter of Fitch Harrison Haskell, a prominent Pasadena architect of the era) . Contains seven color plates by Arthur Rackham: a tipped in frontispiece and six additional full-page illustrations, all in fine condition. Illustrated endpapers. Small 4to. 175 pp.
