Contemporary blue patterned cloth well rubbed; bumping and scuffing at edges; shallow chipping at spine ends; well toned, soiled, and edge-worn bookplate "Methodist Sunday-School Library Columbus, Mississippi." affixed at front board's center. Second bookplate "Methodist Sunday-School, Columbus, Mississippi." on front pastedown. Missing front free endpaper and title leaf (i.e. no formal title or imprint present with applicable information taken from OCLC). Foxing, soiling, staining, and some creased corners; occasional pencil marks with full page pencil notes on edge-worn rfep verso. Binding is still reasonably firm. Columbus, Mississippi bookplate should date to circa 1860-1880 and is a scarce surviving institutional label and interesting relic for that era. OCLC only indicates a single edition for 1859.
