Photos and illustrations throughout. Inscribed by restauranteur George Lang (of The Four Seasons Restaurant) to William Safire on front endpage, "There is nothing as pleasurable as thinking of the good old days, when the present is not so sad either./ With friendship to Helene & Bill/ front George Lang/ April 16/1980." Also includes a typed and signed letter from Lang to Safire (on Lang's custom stationery) explaining how he found the book, and pointing out the fact that in each issue, Safire and Lang are listed as the joint owners of Box 16 on odd Mondays (Lang has marked this in the first issue). Good book. Lightly shelfworn, with spine just barely toned and a small stain to front board. Page edges moderately toned, top edge dust stained, and bottom lightly foxed. Small hole to front hinge.
