Softcover. Etat : Very Good. Reprint. Introduction by translator, to the reader. Illustrated paperback binding with white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Quoting from the rear panel blurb " . In his essay Michel de Montaigne (1533-92) penned a portrait of himself in a frame of timelessness. Following an entirely new, non-chronological method of autobiography, he set out to test his responses to situations and to ascertain the performance of his impressions and opinions. Against a brilliant range of subjects  from cannibals to physiognomy  the man displayed and is objectively detached, tireless in the search for truth, and at all times restraint." Rubbing of the book edges and panels with fading to the left hand edge of the front panel. Tanning and a little foxing of the text block edges and tanning of the pages. The book has been stored improperly and running your fingers across the lower edge of the book you can feel "bumps". Rilegato. Etat : buono. Qualche leggero se-gno a lapis.
