Crimson boards with bright gilt titling to the spine and the front cover. No dustjacket (probably as issued). Some 'light' fading to the base colour of the spine but all lettering, etc, is very clear and pretty bright. All edges Red. Plain Endpapers. 2 oval purple stamps on the reverse of the Front free endpaper (with the words stamped - "Presented by Carmel Band of Hope Aberavon") and the note in old ink " To Annie Lizzie Davies". There is some light foxing here and there in the book but mainly to the first few and the last few pages. (viii) + (pp) 9 - 200 pp. Illustrated with sepia plates - All tissue guarded. An integral sewn Scarlet 'silk' ribbon book mark is present. Also included with the book is a single folded sheet "Emynau i'w Canu yn Angladd Y Diweddar frawd Evan Davies, Aelod Ffyddlawn o Eglwys Carmel, Aberafon. Ebrill 7, 1894" and a rather tatty and torn with loss old news cutting Obituary for Mr Edward Davies. J. P. Aberavon. Both of whom I am assuming are relations of the owner 'Annie Lizzie Davies'? ? . " Together with Daniel Rowland and Howell Harris, William Williams Pant-y-Celyn was the overall leader of the Methodists in Wales in the 18th century, and especially through his hymns, he was one of the most important influences on Welsh language culture in the 19th and 20th centuries ." Quite a scarce book nowadays. In the WELSH Language. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall.
