Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good Plus. 1st Edition. Book has a tight spine, square boards, and is unmarked save for a tiny stray inking on front page block, really almost new. The dust jacket has a couple of very stray ink marks to the front cover, not really all that noticable and some loss at top of spine with a small bit of fray and folding around the top. Not price clipped. Tan cloth boards have black lettering on the spine with a fold out stagecoach schedule and endpaper maps. A fine copy of an exciting journey. "It's best to keep the wheels rolling or they'll slide!".

Unbound. Etat : Very Good. Steel engraved print. Sheet size to the plate mark measures approximately 7.5" x 11.5". Very good. Engraved by W.L. Ormsby, a noted bank-note engraver, after an Imperial photograph by Brady. Onderdonk served as Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York from 1830-1861 and is best known today as one of the most controversial figures in the history of the Diocese. He was accused of improper advances toward women and drunkeness, but at least some of the opposition to him came about because of his espousal of the Oxford Movement. He was found guilty and suspended from his duties after a celebrated trial. A bright, clean copy. Scarce. No copies in *OCLC*.
