Hardcover. Etat : As New. Etat de la jaquette : As New. 1st Edition. First Edition beautifully illustrated hardback as published by Studio Editions in 1990. The pricing of this book and similar copies is surprisingly low as this book is very impressive. The condition of both book and dust-jacket is 'As New'. The book combines extracts from the accounts of the German Professor P.S. Pallas who was in Russia in 1793, with those of the Englishman Robert Johnston who travelled there in 1814 with copies of exquisite contemporary watercolours and a series of engravings prepared for Empress Catherine the Great as a record of her peoples as published in 1803. There are over 100 full colour plates. These are done justice by the scale of the book (330 x 228 mm) in its 224 pages. As with all our sales of books within the UK, we only ever charge a flat standard delivery cost of £3.35.
