The contents are in excellent, bright condition with just a hint of foxing noted throughout. The book has been re-cased, retaining the original spine covering. The boards are in good condition - a touch grubby and with wear to the edges. 96 colour plates of royal & aristocratic costumes from the 5th century to the mid-19th century. A few have minor light smudges in no way affecting the picture. Binding tight. Morocco spine has five raised bands and intricate tracery work. Light shelfwear to leather by joints, and wear in corner. Spine a bit faded, but gilt still clear. Interior, fine, binding, VG, overall, fine, or near fine.
