Pictorial Wraps. Etat : Near Fine. First Edition. Contains TWO TITLES together in the one booklet: The Bear in the Ice Hole - by Knud Rasmussen; PLUS Greenland and Its People - by P.H. Lundsteen. Illustrated with b&w photographs & drawings by Knud Berthelsen. With map at rear. Text in English. Translated by Reginald Spink. Though there's no indication, this copy from the library of Australian Ambassador Lloyd D. Thomson. Diplomat Lloyd Thomson (1919-2015) was the first Australian Ambassador to the Holy See (Vatican) (1973-74, 1980-83), & resident outside Italy at other Australian diplomatic posts, including the Netherlands (The Hague), Ireland (Dublin), the UN in Switzerland (Geneva), plus Head of Mission with the Department of Foreign Affairs, along with other diplomatic posts. Lloyd Thomson was also involved in the theatre as a playwright, actor & producer, notably co-writing the Australian musical The Sentimental Bloke (to the poetry of C.J. Dennis). Seeing this uncommon booklet was published by The Royal Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, no doubt Thomson was offered it at some point. Slim booklet. Bound in publisher's original pictorial wraps with foldover French flaps. Printed in Denmark. A very nice clean softcover copy. 42pp. Uncommon. SB-15.
