Articles and stories include, most notably, Oscar Night in Hollywood, an article about the Oscars and the film industry by Raymond Chandler. Other articles and stories include The Libertine: A Dialogue, an essay by philosopher George Santayana, The Temper of Steel, an early short story by novelist James Jones, Castle of Snow, an early short story by novelist Joseph Heller, Sullivan, Shakespeare, & Shaw, an article by Nobel Prize winning playwright George Bernard Shaw, The Ten Best Novels: the Brothers Karamazov, an appraisal of one the novels he selected for that group, by Somerset Maugham (5th in a series) and others. Condition issues include: rubbing to the lower right of the front cover; and a stain at the lower left of the back cover. The binding is tight and the interior pages are clean with minimal wear. Articles and stories that reflect the ambiance & culture of the post WW II and early Cold War era. A very good copy.
