Spine sunned with small pieces missing to the top and base of the spine. Newspaper clipping stuck to the front paste down. Neat signature to the top of the half title page. Cloth split approx. two inches along front joint, at either end of spine; spine a bit faded, thus a good only copy. The author visited the United States in the winter of 1894-5, and gave lectures in several principal cities, allowing him the opportunity to record his observations of American men and manners.
