Paperback. Etat : Good. No Jacket. This paper back book is in good condition, stapled binding, edge wear to the edges and spine. Some of the stand ups may have been punched out but in their proper places, the last page of stand-ups at the bottom has some clear tape, holding the table legs in where it stands up. All the stand ups appear to be in the book and in good or better condition.

Soft Cover. Etat : Good. No Jacket. Sidney Sage (illustrateur). This oversized book has a colorful paper cover with yellow lettering, bound with staples at the spine. Some cover soil, edgewear; inner pages also have light edgewear, but most are clean. This is a book of "stand-ups," or die-cut figures that can be popped out of the pages and played with when you lay the book flat. All of the pieces are still present and intact. Approx. 10 pages, 10"x13".

Six pages in color, with nursery rhyme at bottom; 'Where are you going, My Pretty Maid;' 'Barber, Barber;' 'Old King Cole;' 'Sing a Song of Sixpence;' 'Jack Spratt and his Wife;' 'Mary, Mary.' . Contents approach VG condition. Most noticeable wear is on the spine cover, color is worn off, and cover is separated on the lower 1.5 inch. Color is good throughout. A fingernail-sized area on the rear cover panel is missing. On the bottom of the front cover, "No.2099" (Saalfield's ? number) This is a stand-up in remakably nice condition for it's age; apparantly used by an elementary teacher as a demo.

All figures unpunched but one, some are kind of loose but not poped out. Number 2099.

Minimal toning. Very nice.

Stapled Wraps. Etat : Very Good. Stapled wraps, pop out pieces all present in pages, has a hint of bowing to book, slight bumps to spine ends and corners, a few tiny cross creases along spine, faint rubbing with a few tiny spots to covers, small area of concentrated rubbing or peeling to upper corner of front cover, and a touch of shelfwear to edges, otherwise a solid, bright VG copy.

All cut-outs present and working with no notable defect. With instructions on how to use the volume to verso front free endpaper. In the original publisher's bright illustrated wraps. Externally generally smart with minor shelf wear, considerably rubbed to spine with light chipping to extremities and head and tail of spine. Staining marks to front and rear cover. Text block disbound from wraps. Minor crayon mark to recto 'Jack Spratt and his wife', not affecting the illustrations. Pages otherwise bright and clean. Good. book.

The wrappers are very slightly tanned, with a few light marks to the rear wrapper, and rubbing at the spine. Four full page and one double page die-cut colour illustrations with characters and objects meant to be pushed out and propped up to produce a pop-up effect. Colour illustrations inspired by the Tenniel originals. Since significant use or any misuse would wreck this fragile item, intact copies are probably pretty scarce. This one is virtually unused The verso of each illustration is printed with the names appropriate to each stand-up. Light creasing to wraps, corners creased, heavy rubbing to spine, light rubbing to surface of cover and two dents. Inside a small piece is missing under a tree in the first illustration and paper lightly discoloured through age, a not used copy. Otherwise a very good copy of a fragile item. Size 32 x 27cm (10.5 x 12.5 inches).
