Particular emphasis is placed on stone implements, shells, and other fossil remains, as well as the rock pictures carved by both prehistoric and historic man. From the library of Ruth DeEtte Simpson (1918-2000), the California archaeologist best known for her work with Louis Leakey at the Calico Early Man Site, with her initials on the front pastedown. Jacket a bit rubbed and edgeworn, with a closed tear to the top of the rear panel, and some chipping to the corners and folds; otherwise a very good copy.
