Foust was the second president of The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Very Good. Biography of educator, orator, U.S. presidential advisor, and race leader, Booker T. Washington (1856-1915), the founder of the Tuskegee Institute (HBCU) in Alabama. The biography, published a year after Washington's death, was co-written by Emmett Jay Scott (1873-1957), Washington's personal secretary, key adviser, and Secretary of the Tuskegee Institute, and Lyman Beecher Stowe (1880-1963), grandson and biographer of Harriet Beecher Stowe, the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin. With a foreword by Robert Moton, Principal of Tuskegee Institute, and a preface by President Theodore Roosevelt.

Washington's death, and the Scott & Stowe biography was published in 1916. This copy, though, is not signed by R. R. Moton.
