Große Widmungskartusche (nicht koloriert) im linken unteren Eck des Plans, mit Ansicht des Rathauses und personifizierten Darstellungen der Flüsse Lech und Wertach. Schefold 40179. Vgl. Lotter/Trepesch: Die Welt aus Augsburg, Nr. 1. - "Der vorliegende Plan ist die inhaltsreichste Grundrissdarstellung Augsburgs im 18. Jahrhundert. Gezeichnet wurde er vom Augsburger Johann Thomas Kraus (1697-1775), der als Architekt, "Perspektivzeichner" (>perspectivus<), Feldmesser und Militäringenieur über die nötigen Fachkenntnisse verfügte, um die kartographische Wiedergabe der Stadt auf einen aktuellen Stand zu bringen". Durch die Nennung der Stadtpfleger Leopold Anton Imhof und Markus Christoph Koch in der Widmungskartusche lässt sich der Stich in die Zeit von 1751 bis 1761 datieren, da die Namen und Wappen der Stadtpfleger bei Neuauflagen aktualisiert wurden. - Durch die hier vorliegende Kolorierung nach Gebäuden und Grünflächen ist der Plan besonders übersichtlich. Häufig erfolgte eine flächige Farbgebung nach Stadtteilen. - Schönes und weitgehend sauberes Exemplar. An den Rändern einige (Finger-)Flecken bzw. leichte Bräunungen. Die Blattränder links und rechts mit gleichfarbigen Büttenpapierstreifen alt verstärkt, oben rechts eine kleine alte Markierung.
