Bookplate inside front cover reads: "A special binding of one hundred numbered copies of JOHN GROTH'S WORLD OF SPORT has been prepared for Winchester Press for private distribution to friends of the author and publisher. This is copy number 15," followed by Groth's signature. The trade edition (in tan cloth boards and DJ) is fairly common, but copies of the special edition rarely surface. I'll include a VG/VG 1st-printing copy of the trade edition, just because. 152 pages. Signed by Author(s).

John Groth (illustrateur). 12 ¼ in. wide x 8 5/8 in. tall. 152 pp. Textured white cloth with titling in red on spine, and a replica of Groth's signature on front cover. In a glossy paper wrapper showing a sample of Groth's work. Lower corner of front inner flap of DJ is clipped, but the price is present on the upper corner. Just a touch of shelf wear to upper end of DJ's spine. Inscribed on the front free end-paper: "For Betty Fitz love and admiration. John Groth July 24, 1971." Accompanying the inscription is a drawing of horse and rider, initialed "JG." Betty Fitz was a well-known sportswoman and dealer in sporting books and was married to sportsman and author Grancel Fitz. Inscribed by Illustrator(s).
