Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. First edition. First edition. Signed by the author facing the title page. Folio hardcover in yellow cloth lettered and decorated in gilt. Issued without dust jacket. 36 pp. Maps and illustrations. Very good or a bit better, just a touch of light soiling to the cloth. The second in the series of Smith's books on American Revolution battles. This volume focuses on the Battle of Trenton that took place on December 26, 1776 as a result of Washington's famous Delaware River crossing on Christmas night. While not a tide-turning engagement militarily, it was (along with the engagement at Princeton on January 3) a crucial event in the public perception of the Revolutionary War.
