Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. No Jacket. Logi Southby (illustrateur). 1st Edition. First impression of the first edition. Large folio sized volume. ***With 10 colour plates (printed on thick brown art paper) along with colour illustrations at the beginning and end of each chapter. Comes with five extra plates kept in a separate pocket at the back of the book - note that there should be 10 extra plates, so some must have been framed up by a previous owner. ***Very good in green cloth-covered boards, with white titles to the spine, and white titles and dragon decoration to the front board. Boards slightly marked. Edges of boards slightly rubbed. Corners and head and tail of spine quite rubbed. Top edge of text-block stained green to match the cloth, as called for. Some sporadic foxing throughout, otherwise contents clean. No inscriptions. ***310 x 240 mm. 265 pages. ***The White Dragon was written and beautifully illustrated by Logi Southby who, after initial training at Art College, worked as a fashion artist and then fashion editor at The Daily Mail. This fascinating children?s book tells the story of a prince's journey from stroppy youngster to regal happiness, via the traditional quest including the slaying of a dragon. There is magic along the way, and many illustrations with hints that Logi Southby's talents and interests lay in the world of fashion. ***First impression of the true first edition, with beautiful illustrations - would make an attractive gift. ***For all our books, postage is charged at cost, allowing for packaging: any shipping rates indicated on ABE are an average only: we will reduce the P & P charge where appropriate - please contact us for postal rates for heavier books and sets etc. - this is a heavy book - please contact us for postal rates if you live outside the UK.
