He is the author of more than a dozen books on the American Civil War, including a trilogy on the defense of District of Columbia, a biography of Secretary of the Navy Benjamin Franklin Tracy, and most recently Jubal Early: Robert E. Beautifully illustrated by Western artist John W.Hamption, this is a transcription of Springer's diary from July to December of 1865 regarding his interactions with the Sioux Indians in the Western US. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.
