Three Quarter Leather. Etat : Fair. No Jacket. Various {engravings} (illustrateur). This copy has a very dark brown leather spine and corners, gilt lettering and decoration of spine. Remaining covers are a matching textured paper. There is corner bumping and quite a bit of edge wear, board showing. Small white spots on covers, mostly on corners {shelf paint?}. Hinges are rubbed, but they and endpapers gutters are solid. Owner mark neatly stamped center of front paste-down, small chip from edge near center of fep. Written in Swedish. Text has yellowed with age, clean and solid in binding. Frontis-portrait has shadowed lightly on title page. 48 black and white engravings; 35 of which are full-page {including frontisportrait}. Most are quite good, but the "Luther Talar Till Bonderna" has been damaged and one 'person' removed - page 133. Remaining illustrations quite good. 231 pages of text closing with a "Faksimil Af Originalet Till Ein Feste Burg". Also includes folded engraving of "Lindgrenska Trasskolan i Stockholm". This sheet is quite rough with some dirt, tears and chipping. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
