Published in Manchester in 1885 this is a nicely bound example of this Victorian Directory of Westmoreland, now Cumbria, bound in an attractive quality quarter leather binding, just over 8.5 inches tall, 692 pages, with a few newspaper cuttings of local interest loosely inserted, and a large folding hand coloured map of the county, the binding is in excellent condition, internally some professional strengthening repairs to splits in the map and to a few page edges (pictured) occasional light handling marks, underlining to a few lines of text, mainly in pencil, some creasing wear else contents in good general condition.
