Edition originale
Hardcover. Etat : Near Fine. Presumed first edition (no additional printings listed). Original gray cloth, stamped gilt lettering, 5 1/2 x 8 1/4 inches, ix + 72 pp, laid paper with chain lines, illustrated with engraved frontispiece (drawing of "The Old North Spire", presumably the North Congregational Church, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, of which the author was pastor). Hardcover, near fine, no dustjacket. Minor shelf wear, starting to lightly age yellow, bit of foxing along edges of textblock, previous owner's inscription, "From Rev. Ida A Green 9/15/54", light tanning on two adjoining leaves from laid-in newspaper clipping about Rev Green, stating that she was one of just "two full time female ministers in the state", otherwise tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked and apparently never read. Posthumous collection of poems the author wrote over the course of years for members of his congregation. Modern first; poetry.
