First published 1829 and again in 1831. Harrowing description of conditions aboard a British prison ship during the Revolutionary War. Illustrated with two tissue-protected sepia toned portraits and a map of the Wale Bogt [Wallabout Bay, now filled in and part of Brooklyn] and vicinity. Folio size, 14.75 inches tall, three quarter dark brown morocco leather over textured brown cloth, raised spine bands, gilt lettering and ruling, edges speckled red, marbled endpapers. Some smudges and scuffs to the cloth, rubbing to extremities, front hinges, lightly internally cracked but very secure, text block sound, protective tissues foxed, pages clean with occasional minimal foxing, no names or other markings.
