Pages and plates are moderately tanned and foxed, but text and images remain clear. Binding is slightly shaky, but all pages remain attached. Boards have moderate shelf-wear, with noticeable corner bumping and some scuffing to edges. Noticeable crushing and slight splitting to spine ends. Gilt remains bright. Visible marks overall. Book has a minor backwards lean.

Described in the preface as a compact edition, these are attractive books with gilt decoration and titling to spines. Undated but look about 1920 - 1930 in period. Cloth very clean and sound, with gilt on spines clear and distinct. Contents clean and tight. At least VG A heavy book set weighing c1500g when suitably parcelled, thus exceeding the default weight of 1000g for the postage quotation, and invoking a request for the extra postage at cost at time of order ( or can be supplied on request ) if to be sent overseas or by 1st class UK post. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
