Light tanning to pages and plates. More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Light cracking and creasing to gutters but binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild staining, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has heavier tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear.

Purple Cloth. Etat : Very Good Minus. Etat de la jaquette : Good Minus. 1st Edition. Type: Z 93pp. Contiains 12 full page colour plates, including frontispeice plate as called for. Gilt embossed lettering to the spine. There are bumps to the head and tail of the spine and to 3 board corners with slight creasing to the lower corners of the adjacent textblock. Slight stip of fading to the head of the front board where the wrapper is missing. Light foxing to the fore edges and end papers and sellotape ghosting to the corners of the end papers. The textblock has a few slight finger soil marks, but is otherwise clean and tight. Dust wrapper not price clipped. there is some fading to the spine of the wrapper and adjacent strip of the front panel of the wrapper. Loss of 3 cm to the head of the front panel of the wrapper for 11 cm across the head with some associated creasing and sellotape repair to the reverse of the wrapper. There is a chip of 1 cm to the tail of the spine of the wrapper. Several short tears of no more than 2 cm from the wrapper edges, only one being 4 cm in length. Areas of rubbing to the front inner flyleaf. The wrapper appears tired and has some slight soiling, but comes with a very good copy of this book.
