Offered is the original 1913 Annual Commencement Exercises Program for the University of Louisville Medical Department School of Medicine, brass plate with graduate's name, and photograph. The Program, bound in full leather with embossed outer lettering and tied by leather straps, measures nearly 5" by 6-1/2" and contains 20 internal pages printed on one side. Held on Friday, May 13, 1913 at 8:00 P.M. at Macauley's Theatre (as stated in the Program), the internal pages contain the Commencement Page with illustration of a doctor with patient; Title Page; Faculty Members; Program [of events during the Commencement]; Class Officers; Committees; and Class Roll. Joseph M. Mathews, M.D., LL.D gave the Commencement address. Laid in is a probable later photograph of the front of the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Lastly, there is a 3-3/4" by 1-7/8" brass plate containing reversed letters (JNO. G. RUMPH, M.D.) issued to graduate John G. Rumph of Texas at the ceremony. Narrow chip to upper right corner of first inside page; tiny edge tear to two pages; else in splendid condition.
