This copy is is Good condition with several issues: toning to end pages, front and back, discoloring to cloth edges, binding slightly cocked, the last three pages have lace like holes and chips around the edges although only one page with an illustration is affected. DJ is fair with many edge and spine chip; front flap is missing its bottom half. While the overall condition of the book is only good, the individual pages with type and illustration are all VG, and scarce to find this book with a dust jacket in any condition.

A different edition of this in blue cloth was issued with a dustjacket, but it is unclear if this version, likewise published in 1930, ever had one. 7.75" x 10.25" hardcover book in red cloth with gilt decoration/titling to front and spine. Unpaginated with black and white illustrations, printed in the "Knudsen Process", evidently a very fine-screened half-tone lithograph. Book, now in protective mylar jacket, from the collection of a tobacco smoker with attendant, mild tanning to spine and a faint smoky aroma within. Pages are however quite bright and crisp, illustrations vivid and attractive. Binding square, sound and firm. Boards still quite fresh with sharp corners and only hints of wear to the edges and corners. Very good+.
