Near fine cloth copy in a very good, very slightly edge-nicked dust-wrapper, now mylar-sleeved. Remains particularly well-preserved overall; tight, bright, clean and strong. SIGNED letter from the editor (R.S.L Hardy Wallis) to 'Miss Bailey' loosely inserted and dated Dec. 1938. It relates to their shared work on the 1938 original edition and the in-progress production of the 1939 limited edition. Included also is a reference from Wallis testifying to Miss Bailey's diligent work on the project. How this came to be inserted in this later copy is a mystery. Date is suggested based on available ISBN and original price data. Physical description: xx, 628 pages; 30 cm. Notes: With facsimile of original title-page "The Newe Testament dylygently corrected and compared with the Greke by William Tindale: and fynesshed in the yere of oure Lorde God. A.M.D. & XXXIIII in the moneth of Nouember". The text of the 1534 edition is reprinted accurately but in a modern typeface. Subjects: Bible; New Testament; William Tyndale; Bible Translations. 1 Kg. Reprint of the 1939 facsimile produced for members of the Royal Society of Literature.
