Dark blue boards, spine titled in gilt. Good-plus in frayed dust-wrapper. "Such an enthralling collection of varied angling experiences may well be styled a book of high adventure. Few anglers can have taken such risks in penetrating difficult places to cast a line". The author manages to make loch fishing for wee trouts a highly risky business. Nonetheless an entertaining read, mostly on Scottish salmon and trout fishing. Vincent Carron Wellington was an assumed name used by David Hugh Williams (1889-1962) for most of his life. Actually born in Wales, (rather than the Highlands of Scotland as stated in this book), he was a convicted bigamist and led a personal life as fantastic as his angling stories. .
