Hardback. Etat : Good. Etat de la jaquette : Good. First UK Edition. First UK edition, first printing. Hardback in dustwrapper. 19 × 12.5cm, 216pp. This copy has been signed and dedicated by the translator, Heinz Norden, to the ffep. Norden (1905-1978) was an author, translator, tenant rights leader, and editor of Heute. Although born in London, he was educated in Germany and had to flee the Nazi regime when he was 19 with his sister Ruth. He then went on to America where he was accused of Communist activity in the late forties. He returned to London in the 1960s where he founded a group called Concerned Americans Abroad, which opposed the Vietnam War. A study of coalition warfare in the Second World War (the book was completed in late 1942), and concentrates predominantly on the German-Soviet war (including Moscow and Leningrad, but published before the Battle of Stalingrad had reached its bloody end). Werner then compares the two armies before looking at Britain's war, the war in the Pacific, and America's task etc. Condition: Good condition. The book is in good shape but the pages are heavily tanned. The dustwrapper has some surface tanning and light edgewear but is now within a protective sleeve. Signed by the Translator.
