Set in Boston and in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The novel opens with a small boy standing outside a store. He soon is conversing with a man he calls Uncle Jack. Grammar note: contractions each have a space not used since the early 20th century; e.g. "didn't" is printed as "did n't". Very good. No dust jacket. Signed by previous owner. Minor darkening to spine. First edition. Same date on title and copyright pages. 1.
