Tall hardback, approx 12 x 10 inches. Quarterbound with dark green morocco leather to spine lettered in gilt, and marbled paper to boards. Top page edges gilt. Plain endpapers. In very good near fine condition. Lovely later fine binding. A couple of minor handling marks to insides pages, some minor tanning to page edges. Edges uncut. Slight crease to front prelim and a couple of minor light spots to halftitle. No penned inscriptions. Else an excellent clean and tight copy. 146pp. Illustrated with 30 colour plates by Harold Copping, 2 plates of Facsimile writings and 2 engraved portraits of Dickens. All are tissue guarded.

Cubiertas algo deslucidas. * El prefacio es de Christian (Georges Herbiet), pariente de Picabia, amigo de Ezra Pound y editor, pintor y escritor que regentaba la librería Au bel exemplaire en Saint-Raphael. Massot (1900-1969) tenía sólo veintidós años cuando escribió esta obra que, aunque temprana, se revelaría fundamental para la historia del movimiento Dada, una aventura a la que el autor se había lanzado de la mano de Francis Picabia. Era, además, cercano a Jean Cocteau, André Gide, Max Jacob, Marcel Duchamp y Tristan Tzara. Massot era también próximo al surrealismo y, a pesar de los acontecimientos de la que se ha bautizado como noche del "C?ur à barbe" que en 1923 marcaría la ruptura entre ambos movimientos, son evidentes sus afinidades con el movimiento surrealista y en concreto con André Breton, con el que mantendría una estrecha relación hasta su muerte.
