Softcover. Etat : Good. Ethics Matters, by Dawn-Marie Driscoll and W. Michael Hoffman, offers a recipe for integrating values into an organization's culture, explaining the factors which have led to the current emphasis on values-based decision-making instead of mere compliance. The authors develop the elements of a ten-point program, the blueprint for establishing a lasting ethical infrastructure. They share stories of companies and organizations that are leaders in the field, including Texas Instruments' process of reducing its code of business conduct to three simple words; Olin's extraordinary communications initiatives; and Guardsmark's annual revision and renewal process. They also dissect the sad tales of organizations that have stumbled, including the International Olympic Committee, Hawaii's Bishop Estate and The Boston Globe. Here, in one concise volume, is what every manager needs to know about building a system that encourages ethical conduct, with practical advice from some of the country's leading ethics officers.

2 Vols., large 8vo, lxiii, 512; [ii], [513]-1194pp., half-titles and final leaf browned, woodcut arms on titles and woodcut initials in the text, later cloth-backed marbled boards. The only library catalogue of the Queen's College, Cambridge. Munby, Cambridge College Libraries. pp. 36-37. 'The Library of Queen's is notable for the excellent catalogue of the whole collection by Thomas Hartwell Horne, published in two volumes in 1827. Horn's catalogue, elaborately classified with author- and subject indexes, provides the best account available in print of the contents of a thriving College Library in the early nineteenth century. Horne catalogues nearly 30,000 volumes including no less than 700 volumes of bound tracts. Noteworthy also was the bequest in 1820 of over 3,000 volumes by Isaac Milner, President, a collection rich in works on the history of the Reformation and on eighteenth and early nineteenth-century science and mathematics.'.
