Two parts excerpted from the encylopaedia of Diderot & D'Alembert and reprinted in facsimile. Explanatory text in two sections with engravings separately. The wide ranging subject matter includes deer, wolf and wild boar hunting, pheasant rearing, falconry, trapping, net making, hook making and much on sea fishing with nets. Text in French, but not beyond anyone with a knowledge of field sports and fishing who remembers a reasonable amount of French from school. .
