This scarce edition is quarter bound in orange linen to colour illustrated paper covered boards, the rare price clipped dust wrapper has some edge wear, a few closed tears and small areas of loss especially to the spine. There are illustrated endpapers, illustrated with eight full page colour plates and over 300 photographs. This title, part of the Ward Lock 'Wonder Series', was in its sixth edition testimony to the interest that the boom in car ownership in the immediate post war years had created. All aspects of motor transport and sport is described and lavishly illustrated. In addition to this there are chapters on the sights that could be seen from vehicles exploring the countryside by road. Ref CC2.
