Hardcover. Etat : Very Good. Etat de la jaquette : Very Good. Jacket by Kenneth Inman (illustrateur). 1st Edition. First edition, first impression. Some edge wear and chipping to top and bottom of jacket and spine, corners slightly rubbed, spine very slightly faded, some yellowing to back jacket. Not price clipped (30s, £1.50), some faint offsetting to endpapers, no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg+ copy for its age. 232pp. When James Lisle takes a job with the publishers who drove his father to suicide, he vows to avenge his parent's death at whatever cost. James's father, Stuart Lisle was a gentlemanly bibliophile out of his depth in his dealings with Everard and Cabot, the businessmen who finally drove the family firm to the wall. Young James isn't the pushover dad was. At executive type slugging, he's a heavyweight, plus he's got an excellent nose for a good book. Alexander Fullerton (1924-2008), was a prolific British author of naval and other fiction. Born in 1924 in Suffolk and brought up in France, he was a cadet during the years 1938-41 at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth from the age of thirteen. He went to sea serving first in the battleship Queen Elizabeth in the Mediterranean, and spent the rest of the war at sea, mostly under it, in submarines and was mentioned in Despatches.
